SSFIPS Labs

​Lab can be accessed either though the "Learning Services Portal"
or through  ELT material. The video's opposite show the delegate and instructor access to these labs through the portal. There will be about a 10 minute wait before the start of each lab to spin up the virtual machines.

If  the labs for this course are accessed from the ELT material. This requires an email prior to every lab either to access immediately or reserve a time slot. The process is straightforward and from my experience took about 15 to 20 mins before the email arrived and a 3 hour time slot allocated. If this reservation overlaps with an existing lab  you have the option to exit the previous lab and start the new lab straight away.

Lab 1 Initial Device Setup

Note:
In the lab setup I had the device registration into FMC failed due to a Smart License update error. This could not be resolved but had no impact on the lab other than not see the device register. Lets hope the rest of the labs are licensed !!

Note:
Had a few issues with adding Bleda URL, might need to save and add again. It did work for me.

I could not get the website unbuntu.com to respond some ssl issue. I used microsoft.com instead as this feel into the computer category in the ACP rule. It worked.

Note:
Do make a note of the times you carry out the attacks this will become important when checking the events. The first attack will generate more events than the second as the first attack is pre application  of the IPS rules.

On my lab the FTD appliance was offset -5 hours from my location.
